Oh please. These battle nuns are awesome tough. The wounds from that blood pact are nothing. Consider that the bird adventurer from the savage race guild clawed up Rachel’s shoulders in addition to hauling her up to the air.
“To each defend the right in our own way…”
I really like Rachel but I have bad felling that here fellow sisters may be still be sticking to the old ways.
I think it’s more of a convenient tying of a loose end, as in they don’t want to have to mess around with that storyline again so they just dismiss it by diminishing it.
After seeing Rachel’s since change of heart, I’d give them the benefit of the doubt- although they’ll probably need Rachel’s guidance after learning from (Saint) Frigg. ;-)
The Order seemed like too big of an organization to go completely down even from one catastrophic incident. Hell, as we’ve just seen, the sisters themselves still needed to *go* somewhere.
Even if Rachel’s little clique are pretty much okay, you can bet there are other splinters and factions.
Perhaps, but at least she’s not as clueless as before forming her new order, and that is her point in following Frigg’s example. At the end of the day- really- she’s going to learn a lot from Frigg.
Whoa whoa whoa. We’re here watching Gravedust being even more cynical than usual when we could be watching Frigg trying to out-tank Scipio and probably getting completely overrun with hilarious irony?
You know, Gravy, as the last member of a dying religious order, maybe you should be a little more open-minded to ideas on how to establish an order from the ground up.
For the sake of pedantry, it does have to be an ordinary pot, rather than a teapot. Teapots were not put over the fire (that’s what the kettle was for), and therefore did not gain the soot covering that led both kettles and ordinary pots to become black, thus forming the basis for the expression. Traditionally, a teapot could quite reasonably call a kettle black as the teapot would remain a pristine white.
Just wanted to let you know, Campbell, Khan and Waltrip, this comic has progressed to the point where it is the update I look forward to the most.
You equal Goblins, OOTS and Penny Arcade for me. You surpass LFG, CAD, xkcd, and a whole host of other less well known comics. Keep up the good work please.
Can I just say I fucking love the reliability of your updates? I’m never disappointed when I come here on Mon/Wed/Fri. <3
This comic is a rock of certainty in an uncertain webverse. Damn interesting too, and the art is a pleasure. Some posts just have to have a “me too”, had to do it!
I see this as the Sisterhood of the traveling “Oh my god is that a bladed Ruler now Im craping my pants!”. also, when a character say they “have alot to learn” and are very optimistic, I got a feeling she’s gonna die soon.
You mean the symbol for the Order of the Countless Limbs? Or the title page for chapter 5? Which I noticed when I went to the archive to look for the symbol. But I gave up, because without links to individual pages it takes forever to find a particular page, even if you know roughly where to look.
Just the fact that you have a group of women performing a blood ritual in a recently desecrated site of worship should be worrying in and of itself. That’s looking a little like a coven to me.
Either that, or they’re going to be the best women’s basketball team Gastonia has ever seen. “And… BREAK!”
Am i really the only one who is wondering what E-merl is doing with his ice-magic there?
i mean its not like he can “make” some food.
or is it just for special effects before he pulls some food out of his holed hat?
I do not see this whole multiplayer fanatics matter. If you think this particular the root of gaming is usually that the individual experience. If you truly dreamt of social why not go outside and speak to your neighbor or friend, not party with the puppy in WoW and kill Drathor or something. SP and Multiplayer both need to be catered, but its because that had been multiplayer options that games need extra care in the realms s of simplification and updates, SP games have a lot fewer of updates and usually need to be better quality games. I hope KOTOR has taken a turn for something innovative in a bloated genre, prone to clones and generic game play. And I hope it functions its roots by allowing the right SP experience
Probably have better luck fending off the townsfolk if your hands weren’t all fucked up.
lawl
Oh please. These battle nuns are awesome tough. The wounds from that blood pact are nothing. Consider that the bird adventurer from the savage race guild clawed up Rachel’s shoulders in addition to hauling her up to the air.
Stop arguing with jokes.
Whatever. Besides, it’s moot since they chose to evade and escape the townspeople anyway- the smarter choice, fucked up hands or not.
JOKE.
Turnips.
Awesome. :-D

Hey where’d mah sweet avatar go?
They change gravatars every so often.
Also, if you switch computers, you get a new one.
Nah, it feels like a set up. We’ll no doubt run into one or two of these different ways before the war gets up to speed.
Yeah. This page seems like a Chekhov’s nun setup.
After seeing Rachel’s since change of heart, I’d give them the benefit of the doubt- although they’ll probably need Rachel’s guidance after learning from (Saint) Frigg. ;-)

I wouldn’t be surprised if they were really only held in that one church, with a few ‘missionaries’ here and there.
Wait. I thought they were celibate?
Gravedust needs to chill. Rachel’s just trying to do good. No point in questionning her motives.
Incase you haven’t noticed yet, Gravedirt is a bit of a Dick.
Oh Rachel, you clueless muppet.
Perhaps, but at least she’s not as clueless as before forming her new order, and that is her point in following Frigg’s example. At the end of the day- really- she’s going to learn a lot from Frigg.

Maaaaaan…
wow, super perspective work in that last panel. kudos.
Thank you, Frelance.
Contrasting the ‘Gravedust’ who gave the user interview, with Dusty’s attitude problem… remains of boundless curiosity to me.
Why is Gravedust so much more grouchy in the arch? Or is this is twin brother. What was his name? Tombdirt?
I misread that as Tomdirt at first. :P
So did I.
You know, Gravy, as the last member of a dying religious order, maybe you should be a little more open-minded to ideas on how to establish an order from the ground up.
At least Rachel’s trying.
Oh wow, I forgot I had the stern-faced Rachel avatar.
That makes the above look so much more pretty and snippy than I meant it to.
Kettle. Teapot. Guess which is which.
For the sake of pedantry, it does have to be an ordinary pot, rather than a teapot. Teapots were not put over the fire (that’s what the kettle was for), and therefore did not gain the soot covering that led both kettles and ordinary pots to become black, thus forming the basis for the expression. “Neat”?

Update reliability is something we make sure to stay on point about, because we know you guys love to be here to comment as soon as it goes up.
Thanks for all the kind words, Alpha! Please tell all your friends about us, and maybe we’ll be as big a success as Goblins, OOTS, and all the others!
Thank you, Alpha. That’s very gratifying to hear. Your appreciation and support makes the work all worthwhile.
I’ll have to check out those other strips sometime.
Indeed. We all love to hear things like this, and we’ll keep doing our best to earn them!
This comic is a rock of certainty in an uncertain webverse. Damn interesting too, and the art is a pleasure. Some posts just have to have a “me too”, had to do it!
That position of the sisters forming the pact? I get the feeling we already know that symbol.
(But I’m too lazy to look it up.)
The creepy starfish symbol?
I see this as the Sisterhood of the traveling “Oh my god is that a bladed Ruler now Im craping my pants!”. also, when a character say they “have alot to learn” and are very optimistic, I got a feeling she’s gonna die soon.

and by kobold infestation, I mean, knocking boots
I do not wish to know just where it is that the “kobolds” are “infesting”.
There’s a topical ointment for that, I hear.
We’re the sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Kicking.
“Isn’t it a lovely morning?” annnnnnd….cue catastrophe!
I agree… Nothing good comes from that statement.
When will Rachel and all them get entires in the “cast” page? =0
G-Day 2012.
I wonder if the other battle nuns will make an appearance… Would be interesting to see how they all decide to define ‘the right’.
Am i really the only one who is wondering what E-merl is doing with his ice-magic there?
i mean its not like he can “make” some food.
or is it just for special effects before he pulls some food out of his holed hat?
Magic refrigerator.
Something seems a tad off with Dusty.
Anyone wishing they said ”With our power combined, CAAAPTAIN PLANET!”
Whok indeed ,_,
