Bingo… nature (wood?), water, wind, lightning, and (of course) fire.

The 5 elements… from a (classical) Asian POV.

They’re Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal.

to expand.. it’s clear HR has no control over the characters or their environment (or even KNOWLEDGE of their environment) when they are dead, near death, or otherwise dealing with things of a not-alive nature. that i think is his unknown variable, or his ghosts in the machine (pun marginally intentional) – HR sees the guilded world as a game server – but the guilded world is, in fact, a world with its own afterlife and the whole deal.

ergo, tectonicus is a malevolent “ghost in the machine”, whereas the savasi shamans are the benevolent counterpart. at least, so far. Graiya i’d drop is as a neutral party. gotta have balance.

How is it that things without lips can always speak perfectly? It should be:

“I a’ Tectonicus. I hear yuh, ‘y ‘lessed son, ‘y greatest ser’ant. Yor greatest duty: yuh ‘ill li’, yuh ‘ill ‘ight. Trolls ‘ill sur’i. Ene’ees ‘ill ‘urn.”

Hmm… this *doesn’t* bode well for the ‘peace-making’ crowd.

Harky is taking on (IMO) the role of ‘Holy Warrior’… those kinda folks *don’t* grasp ‘moderation’ too well.

(And I sorta called it… Harky IS coming back with a buff… ‘Favored by Deity’. That’ll keep Frigg busy; Harky just might KA-SMITE her…)

If the tiny blue Harky spirit is supposed to be life-size, Tectonicus is BIG.

Also, are those little studs on his head or does he have ten eyes?

Actually, Rob, those little studs on his head are his eyes, and the two large holes in front are his nostrils. There’s another image of Tectonicus on page 23 of chapter 15 that’ll give you a better idea of what his head looks like in relation to his body.
