Small wonder Sister Blair couldn’t sell Scipio on this. She thinks herself a sharp saleswoman, but have you actually seen her drive the point home yet? Sure she had a break with E-Merl, but that stock’s a fifth of what it was.
OWWWie!!! Wow! That sword strike is a really great way to blow your fighter’s shoulder or elbow joint (not to mention significant loss of striking power)! In reality his arm would have have already rolled over into initial blade recovery though with a double edged weapon, there is just as much damage done with the ‘reverse edge’ of the weapon leading. In other words, at this point, the strike is palm down.
the way i see that panel is scip is intending to land on blair’s far side with the sword handle at his left hip so he already has a thrust readied when he lands (ideally behind blair)
Also, assuming Scipio had hit (which was his intent), had he tried to roll his wrist before this point, he’d have been twisting while cutting through Blair, which would’ve been a little difficult. Sure, keeping his wrist flat is less than optimal for strike power and recovery, but doing anything else just means your sword gets stuck half-way.
Rachel clearly doesn’t like Tamara’s heavy-handed approach, and is about to instruct her in the finer points of the light touch. Her hands-on approach has gotten glowing reviews, so this will hopefully but a good opportunity for Tamara to refine her tactics. After all, it’s blindingly obvious that Rachel can see the lack of vision Tamara displays in these affairs; Tamara tries to mask her deficiencies and put a bold face on it, but Rachel has got a grip on the situation, and a firm hand on the tiller.
Oh wait, unless you mean you’re Rachel, and “having your hands full” the idiomatic expression. I think I gotcha now. –Loki, the “oh wait, now I get it”er.
Also, the big trick is: you still have to put out the fire that you started, it just means that you hopefully have time to stop the fire from getting completely out of hand
Also related to the use of fire (in the form of dynamite explosions) to put out burning oil wells. The explosion displaces all of the oxygen from the area where the oil is burning, long enough for the flame itself to go out.
That’s the technique they used to put out the oil fires in the Middle East back in 1991, after the Gulf War.
Hey – in panel one – is E-Merle’s doppelganger giving Hestia the finger? Cool.
Also, I can’t wait to see the redheaded nun get her comeuppance; she’s just pure evil. I’d like to see Frigg, Scip, E-Merle and Rach make their own Blair witch project.
Fighting fire with fire worked in Naruto! Granted it was fighting magical regular fire with magical black all-consuming fire that makes the caster gradually blind, but still.
The part where the GM regrets the ability’s description: “Black flames consumes anything in the caster’s field of vision.” Where anything obviously includes fire.
You can’t help but wonder if Tamara was going to go for E-Merl or her fire-handed “friend” instead. Maybe she got tired of their sh!t too? She’d make an interesting member of the team…
Her face was aimed down at E-Merl, so I’m pretty sure she was going for him. It seems pretty clear that she’s way into the ‘sh!t’ and likes the warmth. Maybe she’ll change her mind after Rachel beats her up and cracks/dents/demolishes her mask, but until then she seems to be firmly on the other side.
Yeah, true…I hadn’t thought of the direction her face was tilted at. Blind folks don’t always “look” where they’re aiming because, not having their eyes to rely on, they’re forced into using other sense clues like hearing and touch. So that kinda threw me.
It’d still be awesome to have Rachel beat the snot out of those girls, then shag E-Merl’s narrow elven bohunkus ten ways to Sunday while Scipio hurriedly lopes back into town pretending nothing happened. “Nothing to see here, carry on with your daily lives Citizens…!”
Did E-Gurl cover Hesti-bitch’s hands with fire? Or is that part of her powerup to send a fireball his way (he is gesturing, and you see sparks from his hands, just hoping the sparks aren’t a sign he is out of juice)
Hoping that Rachel is just going to restrain Tammy (still holding out hope that Tammy can be saved from the Bitch Side {they ate all the cookies themselves})
LETS GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUMBLE!!!!
CAN YOU SMELL WHAT RACHEL IS COOKING?
SMITE DOWN!
DA DA DAAAAAA – DAAAAAAA DA DA DAAAAAAA
…no wait, that’s pokémon. I’m sorry.
Rachel uses holy power… it’s super effective
Let’s do this shiznit!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxHtZJphmGA ?
Yes!
Someone got her groove back.
Small wonder Sister Blair couldn’t sell Scipio on this. She thinks herself a sharp saleswoman, but have you actually seen her drive the point home yet? Sure she had a break with E-Merl, but that stock’s a fifth of what it was.
She is pretty bent out of shape after Scipio’s cross-pitch.
Hey, the man just wants a slice of the action, and Blair’s trying to cut him out of the deal? No wonder he had to get a little sharp with her.
I can’t remember, in any gaming-related webcomic, ever seeing a panel so clearly depicting a counterspell check.
I know. The artwork on GA is downright superb. Whatta delight to savor this 5x/week. The whole production just exudes excellence!
Trufax: That extra-long guest week and other time off we took between Chapters 25 and 26 gave the Waltrips extra time to make the comics extra-nice.
So next time we have to do something like that, I hope everyone remembers that the wait pays off!
More wait, less hate! More wait, less hate! More hate, less wait! More wait, less hate, More hate, less wait! More hate, less wait!
…less wait, less hate!
… Wait… somebody counterspelled?

I see what you did there sir. I’d shake your hand but mine are currently full as it were. Rather they will be momentarily.
I don’t understand. Have all of the puns filled you with the desire to occupy both of your hands with…other, activities?
Oh wait, unless you mean you’re Rachel, and “having your hands full” the idiomatic expression. I think I gotcha now. –Loki, the “oh wait, now I get it”er.
my brain hurts from all the puns jammed into a single paragraph O.o well done, you win an e-MIRV :D
Awww yeah! Rachel is about to get her Frigg on!
Awwwwww yeaaaaah, give ’em the Shining Finger, Rach!!!!
Is she the girl with the golden hand
No, she’s the girl whose hand glows with an awesome power; it tells her to Ka-Smite them.
If they’re not lucky, she might even make them take her pain, her anger, her sorrow, and all of her love.
DENIED
A note from a fire fighter’s son: Fighting fire with fire does work, and is a tactic often used in wilderness fires.
It involves burning something before the fire gets to burn it, right?
yep. burn an area outside of the current blaze so that when the fire spreads to where you have already burnt, there is no fuel to sustain the wildfire
Well, that’s the theory. Doesn’t always work. See exhibit a: Australia.
Problem with Australia: they didn’t use enough fire (it’s still there :P)
Also, the big trick is: you still have to put out the fire that you started, it just means that you hopefully have time to stop the fire from getting completely out of hand

You want awful shaky-cam, no plot, terrible acting, and an unsatisfying end? Really?
Don’t forget nose dribble with bad hats.
“Hey – in panel one – is E-Merle’s doppelganger giving Hestia the finger? Cool.”
Eeyup.
Is Blair lighter than a duck?
Getting really tired of this red-headed girl’s competence.
I know, right? She’s seems to be pretty sharp on the battlefield.

Sigh. It’s times like these that I wonder what everyone’s favorite Gnoll Luchador is up to.
Looks like everyone got tired of their bull****
I just noticed the bones in Tamara’s hands.
oh wow, I see em now too!
She’s powering up, like she did when she knocked Rachel out with her arse bone
YOU’VE GOT THE TOUCH!
YOU’VE GOT THE POWEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!
Darn it, I meant to reply to this, now everything is ruined forever.

…Hopefully, Rachel will finish healing Frigg somewhere before the “happy ending” you just described…
Incoming broken ribs in 3… 2…
What would be worse is *outgoing* broken ribs…
Nun shall stand, and nun shall fall.
All for nun and nun for all! Wait…um…ew. -___-
NUN SHALL PASS.
(Black Knight in MPATHG)
Nun shall live.
I’ll have nun of that! I’d prefer a shrubbery.
Not to mention cutting down a tree with a herring, of course.

Has everyone forgotten about the 4 noviate’s that were seen heading up the path a couple pages back?
Hoping that Rachel is just going to restrain Tammy (still holding out hope that Tammy can be saved from the Bitch Side {they ate all the cookies themselves})
Yeah restrain after she beat Tammy so hard her eyes grow back just fall back out
Justice is cold ? What do you know about justice, Blair, you religious zealot, you religious harlot ?
The scorpion tail on Scipio’s swing is an excellent touch. I love the implication of the speed of his strike.
actually yes, its a common tactic when fighting wildfires to cut or burn a firebreak, fire can’t live off ash afterall
Last page, E-merl went Iron Man. This page, Rachel went Iron Fist.
Could it be a sign that those two are finally ready to Iron out their differences?
