“Guys, we need a twist to surprise the readers with that lamp, they’re getting suspicious !” “How about there’s no twist at all and the lamp do just that ?” “You mean… the twist is no twist ? Genius !”
Shouldn’t it be established WHY he was murdered in the first place? It just seems awfully convenient for this to all go down the moment after they enforce a lockdown.
True, but he could’ve blurted out any vaguely cultastic motive – “I killed him because the Black Goat With A Thousand Young told me to” etc.
Conveniently, the two characters who could’ve kept up the threat of beating and gotten more info are moving out. Bandit and E-Merl will question politely & slowly instead, so the guy can reveal that it’s all a trap just as we cut back to Scip and Byron to see how screwed it turns out they are.
Is Bandit saying to stick the CULTIST if he gets twitchy, or to stick BYRON? ‘Cause if she’s talking about Byron… fer Arkerra’s sake Bandit, put a sock in it! They know, okay!? This is why I don’t like you. Team Byron! D:< -wears Byron shirt-
But seriously though, didn’t Byron hand out those syringes to all the main team members? I think they already know the drill if she was talking about him. o:
1: SOMETHING is going on here, either Beardy McLamplamp is a cultist, or the questions are dumb, but straightforward? Not way, that’s unpossible.
2: Why is Scipio’s sword so familiar? Like, I’ve seen someone else weilding it, and there is just SO much focus on it in those frames….
Even better, that’s the reboot-ish version with the techy-ish stuff. :-) Scip’s sword also looks a lot like She-Ra’s, since the difference between hers and He-Man’s was that hers had a jewel on the crosspiece like that.
Looking back on Friday’s page… I guess nobody expected the lamp to work straightforwardly and as advertised?
Boy do I feel silly.
I feel somewhat betrayed.
Beardy Lampguy’s a cultist and this is all a red herring to distract the adventurers and/or lead them into a trap.
I was thinking the same thing!

The twist is the guy with the lamp is a cultist too.
Does it count as a twist if everybody thought it would happen?
The twist is that the lamp is a cultist, and Lectrus doesn’t know…
No, the twist is that scipio’s cigar is actually HR’s homunculous in disguise.
I’d say “I like to you keep you guys guessing” but I’m pretty sure no one likes to keep you guys guessing more than you guys.
Phil’s on to us! Quick, everyone accept what’s in the comic at face value, that’ll really throw him for a loop!
Quick, someone get M. Night Shyamalan. We need a plot twist!
Damn you and your plot-breaking lamp, Lectrus!
inb4 Scip joins the cultists.
Do you have to write all his jokes? Yes. Seeing as you’re his author and all…

Lie detectors are sooo useful :)
That’s a nice mortal coil you have there. It’d be a shame if something happened to it.
Pretty sure that would have gone worse for him if the lamp hadn’t lit up.

No… let’s not skip the beatings!
Quick quick! Locke the murderer up with Lectrus and magic lamp!
I’m sure nothing bad will go wrong while we chat here in the hallway.

That third panel was hilarious!
I guess they hung a lampshade on it.

She-Ra’s sword? Does that mean that all this time, Scipio’s sword was a hint that his player is a woman?
Apparently, the lamp is a part of Lectrus’ body. :/
If he gets twitchy? What does she mean?
Splitting the party. Just what the cultists want.
