Chapter 36 – Page 31
Hey, Guildies! While we’re getting our new online store up and running, you can hit up your local comics shop and ask for Guilded Age volume 1 and/or 2 with codes STK459432 & STK670027!
“Why order through my local comic shop instead of buy directly from you,” you might ask? It is true, we make more money that way, but it costs you more! Also USPS has been horribly unkind to us lately, so it is a reliable way to obtain them! And local comics shops need the love, too!
Also, y’know… the better we do at the shops, the better it makes us look at other shops and so on and so on.
So yeah, if you want the books and like to support your local comic shop, ask for us with codes STK459432 & STK670027!
“On a first date I will either be in charge, or desperately in need of help. It’ll be pretty clear which.”
Alright! Ladies, here I come!
Saaaph! =DDD
And yay, help is aggressively arriving!
Help is aggressively being yoinked, you mean.
Watch that first step,
It’s a killer.
Likes walks on the beach, dry martinis and senseless bloodshed.
Well, E-Merl, fwiw, Rachel isn’t having ANY kind of a time, what with being erased from existence. So arguably, if null > terrible, then yes, she’s having an easier time than y’all are.
On a more serious note, only now did it really hit me that he doesn’t know yet.
They could be avoiding any mention of her intentionally. It’s actually possible she managed to get a character restore, or she might have remade. …which leads to some strange possibilities in itself.
No need to avoid mention, *none* of these characters know yet. Axemas special aside, the battle against the Digibeast and this cultist berserker HUAAGHAGAGGHGHHGAAGH!!! incident are happening simultaneously. Hence the split party.
I didn’t think about that…
It would be funny if The Five noticed some world bending oddities among their closest companions and start investigating them BEFORE their companions truly see just how odd they are (or are informed of an impossible to believe conspiracy theory by a certain gamer abrasive journalist – I wonder if her anti-game personality will help or hinder their belief )
I know, right?!
Well uh, this might just be a technical thing, but Rachel is still on the cast page, and not listed as dead. Hell, Payet is on there and he’s just MIA
I was trying to understand the reason for the different uniform colors when it struck me.
Is Gastonian racism institutionalized even in their medic corp?
Gastonia /is/ all about human supremacy.
Along with opposing Stockholm Syndrome and eating dozens of eggs each day.
If you’re referring to Saphora I don’t think she’s technically a part of the Gastonian army so she wouldn’t wear their uniform.
That’s what I was thinking.
Im referring to the humans all having matching versions of the uniform, Syr’ng having a modified version of the same uniform, and also Saphora’s entirely different one. I didn’t recognize her at first, but I was noting that the split was perfectly coinciding with race.
…and I really wouldn’t put it past Gastonia anyways.
“the new recruiti s a Savasi? Let’s show our support of his joining a superior group with a special brown recruit uniform”
How does Syr’ng know anything’s up at all?
Bah, wrong place.
*checks Saphora’s archive*
*nearly cries at second entry*
It isn’t medic racism if a race actually has superior healing magic.
It may also just happen that elves find human clothing unfashionabe and vice versa.
Saphora’s just an adventurer and therefore doesn’t do “uniform”.
Though Gastonia is racist as hell, racism is not a factor here. When Syr’nj was in the army (Ch 1-13) she had a similar blue uniform to what these guys have. Theirs is a bit fancier but that can likely be chalked up to using different artists.
Or it could be that Sy’rnj specifically asked for medics capable of doing some serious ass-kicking healing & the differences in uniform from before is due to higher-ranking medics.
Or it could be that military has a habit of making alterations in uniforms every few years or so. I was in the Navy & this is a matter of historical fact.
Or it could be what you said too…
;)
You know, I´m thinking about starting a career at the health department.
Wait, I AM pharmacist !
Crud. Why am I not allowed to shoot syringe-bolts at people.
Not fair !
They shoot syringe-bolts at bears and large cats all the time, you just need to think of them as animal shaped people and go find your dream job.
Hi. CIA here. We have a position for you in our covert ops dept.
Waitaminit. We just reviewed your NSA dossier. Never mind.
If you´re referring to the Tabasco-clysma-incident, that was totally not my fault.
How about a Park Ranger? They have to drug animals to tag & track them. It’s a part of what Ecological Conservation is all about.
E-merl really knows how to pick up a girl..
“Sure hope Rachel’s having an easier time than we are.”
…..Ummmm, sure, E-Merl.
Do those codes also work in the Netherlands?
Yub. Whed I was id duh Dederladds last weeg, I cot a code id by dose. Code biruses worg everywhew.
*hands biggmac a box of tissues, a glass of water & a bottle of generic, over-the-counter antihistamines*
In which there are no eyes, but plenty of eyebrows.
THERE BE MONSTERS HERE!
And they all run off leaving the portal unguarded for several minutes. Winning the battle, but losing the war…
I love e-merl’s tenacity. Just puts his head down and gets it done.
How does Syr’ng know anything’s up at all?
Science!
She doesn’t actually know, but she and Byron had a pretty good idea what he was walking into from the beginning. Since then, she has made two observations: 1) She can’t currently accomplish anything useful by staying behind. 2) Leaving means she won’t have to listen to Pardo talking out of his ass.
Actually, he’s both in charge and in most need of treatment. It’s been a rough day.
But didn’t Bandit just recently stop Byron’s being in charge? He was berserker-charging, but Bandit stopped it…At least, temporarily.
Swartha likes axes.
(And will cut off your manhood.)
Of course it’s good to get the book into comic shops… if nothing else, they won’t just buy one and thus it exposes the book to new readers… :)
And that completes my first read of Guilded Age. A pleasant archive dive if ever there was.
Looking forward to the reporter being dismissive about games and character to a group of role players who just got totally wiped after one of them was DELETED. They may help restrain her for mustache man.
And now back to Grrl Power where its safer…
Safer? Really? >.> You have an odd idea of safe..
You don’t feel safe there?
Only if I were inside of Sydney’s shield.
On second thought, that Grrl is chaotic enough that I may not feel safe even there…Just ask Shadow Boxer.
Since when is Byron “swarthy”? I mean, he’s a little tan, maybe, but every one of your field medics is swarthier than he is. They’re gonna’ be looking for someone else with that description.
