SCA doesn’t do too well with bullets involved (at least everyone that I’ve met). Now if he was an airsoft enthusiast I’d put more faith in his ability to handle a real gone.
Most of the SCA folks I know have a lot of overlap with other martial disciplines. Several of them can handle anything from a dagger to a field artillery piece with a reasonable degree of competence. Probably depends on what part of the country they’re from.

No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part!
