Honestly, if I didn’t typo constantly, you people would have nothing to do around here.
Dunno about that.
Turnabut is fail ploy :)
Dat’s a problem you get for not turning off you autoco-wreck. All’s fairly in love & Warcraft.
Well considering that chapter lasted 4 months, I have a feeling Guilded Age is not quite going to finish this year!
Wow 3 sub basements? Classy living right here.
Yes, but all of them are just labelled SUB-BASEMENT. You’d think they’d have unique designations, even if it was just SUB-BASEMENT 1, SUB-BASEMENT 2, SUB-BASEMENT 3.
The one Carol is taking to them is not SUBBASEMENT where HR lives, but SUBBASEMENT with the acid-spitting alligators and starved lion-dragons. That’s why they aren’t labeled, to allow for clever ruses like this.
Honestly, they look color coded except that we’re not able to see the colors properly. I’m thinking they’re called Sub-basement Yellow, Orange, and Red respectively.
Sub-basement 1, most of the plumbing & electrical distribution for the building.
Sub-basement 2, air conditioning, water heating, & water recycling from bathrooms to coffee machines in the low-level employees breakrooms.
Last stop at Sub-basement 3, main computer lab with 5 missing persons & one mad scientist all in test tubes. Everybody off!
Dawn of the 2983 day.
Two Chapters Remain.
And finally the end was in sight.
And that was when things got REALLY messed up…
so bets: 1 dead, 2 dead,6 dead or 8 dead?
aka, wizard,lover,reporter,hacker,berserker,druid,seer,bard
in a hundred years that will be a childrens skipping rhyme and no one will remember the horrors that made it stick in racial memory.
9 dead. No survivors.
TPK
TPK ?
Total Party Kill.
Another phrase for “Rocks fall, everybody dies.”
For some reason my bet is that Xan will die, Carol is a toss-up, I wanna say live because she might do some weird change of heart thing here OR suddenly stand her ground and try to protect HR, but we need an inside person to be able to backup Carol’s story so I think Carol lives, HR will die, Shanna will live to report on the whole mess and be able to learn to embrace gaming (or not look at it in disgust at least) and that Best will die on his way out of the tubes, trapping him in the game as the others escape, thus leaving him to his lonely grave, after, of course, fulfilling his great destiny to allow those four to escape.
Oops, I meant to say back up Shanna’s story. :P
They’ll all survive, but not necessarily in the world they’d like to.
Down, down to Goblin Town,
Down, down to Goblin Town,
Down, down to Goblin Tooowwwnnn,
You go my lad,
You go my lad!
Wasn’t that the song in the first animated movie of Lord of the Rings (what, how many decades ago?) when Bilbo fell down the hole that led to his meeting with Gollum? My confusion here is due to being sooo long since I’ve seen it.
It’s from the 1977 Rankin Bass animated version of “The Hobbit”. I know it’s much maligned, but I grew up with it and I still enjoy it, even 40 years later. Honestly, I prefer Richard Boone’s performance as Smaug over the one in the recent cinematic releases, even though that was also well done. When I read the book as a kid, Smaug always seemed more bombastic and arrogant than the “sneaky” version done for the Peter Jackson films.
Okay, now that the prologue for the story is over the real story begins?
Most of the tension in this page is coming from my brain screaming “TRIGGER DISCIPLINE, GOD DAMN IT!” at me.
Someone’s going to sneeze, shoot the elevator controls, and the last two chapters will be them talking as they sit trapped in the box waiting for maintenance.
This is like the tower of terror, without the falling of course but with all the terror, and elevators.
So… rabbit holes have elevators in them now? That’s convenient.
As long as it’s not a plot hole, I can live with it. But I have a feeling someone’s going to get shafted.
Looks like something big is going down.
Ah, good old Glock. There’s no gun in that world that says ‘I mean it’ like this one.
Ok, all it says is ‘bang’, but you know what I mean.
Maybe.
It’s interesting that while these are supposed to be the good guys, I hate their guts and hope they fail.
…but I also hope HR fails. Such mixed feelings.
Carol’s eyes in panel 2, after her nightmare… Priceless.
