Ah, the Troll slave. I ran a DND 3.5 character which was a Troll Barbarian, who joined the party when the Paladin freed him from slavery. Granted, he didn’t ACT like he was grateful, and some of his habits were disgusting, but he could soak up damage like nothing else! Oh, and he never needed healing.
Byron doesn’t so much *recognize* anything as he figures that getting involved here will probably interfere with their (more important) mission. I think he’d like to take a hand here, but that he also doesn’t think it would be the best thing to do.
Of course, I don’t expect Byron to be able to keep them from getting mixed in with this. Where’s Syr’nj?
Why are some of you obsessed with Frigg’s supposed “femmininity” or lack thereof from drawing to drawing. She has lady-bits. She wears full plate. She has a face. moving on. Y’all do this to Syr’nj too.
The great thing about whipping your troll slave is that they heal almost instantly so you can keep whipping them for as long as you like.
The whip marks on the slaves suggests that either they are not trolls, or that trolls do not regenerate in this setting, at least not as fast as in D&D.
Man Byron you’d better have a good reason to not be killing slavers now, something like ‘let’s follow them back to their camp and then we can kill all the slavers at once instead of having to hunt them down individually’.
Hey, we’re finally movin’ toward seeing that one bigass smirking troll with the armor and the jewel casually swatting Frigg’s mace down! Maybe we’ll get the shadowy-figure-guy soon, too.
Yeah i’m honestly not sure if that face of Byron’s in the last panel is “stand down, it’s not our business”, “stand down, those guys killed everyone in my village when I was a kid, let them be slaves” or “stand down, I am going to kill them all myself”.
Byron knows that Syr is out there, about to apply Science most scientifically…?
But that expression in the panel before last implies that his heart is breaking. He’s not really one to back down from a fight per se, so I must think he has a reason for declining (or delaying) the fight. Perhaps it’s not a good reason, but there must be SOME reason.
Also: I love Frigg’s expression in that panel as well. And, lastly: Looks like Bugbears enslaving Orcs to me…but I’m willing to go with trolls enslaving orcs. Neither group appears big enough to be ogres. I never thought of trolls as being particularly hairy though.
It’ll be interesting to see if Byron’s leadership extends past planning the skirmish, since I don’t exactly see Frigg backing down unless Byron has a surprisingly good reason.

Careful, Frigg: your Paladin is showing.
Byron recognizes something… but what?

I thought the Trolls were the slavers (they would be the bigger ones, right?)
Ether way I’m with Frigg on this one, time for flank.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure those are troll slavers driving orc slaves.
Love that third panel! Frigg looks a bit more feminine than usual despite being her usual self.
Why are some of you obsessed with Frigg’s supposed “femmininity” or lack thereof from drawing to drawing. She has lady-bits. She wears full plate. She has a face. moving on. Y’all do this to Syr’nj too.
I think he’s preparing for some of his berserking action… :Þ
Byron understands the importance of checking the CR.
Perhaps slavery is legal in the troll nation?
(Or perhaps the enslaving of trolls is legal?)
Say whaaaaaat?
The cat-o-ninetails, not as dangerous as its counterpart: the tail-o-ninecats.
Gold Star.
Let’s see, nine cats by the tail would be a weapon with 36 fangs and 180 claws. Yeah, that could be a problem.
And a note…I think that’s Trolls enslaved by Ogres, not Trolls enslaving Orcs.
Why, that could kill…hold on… 103 low level wizards!

Either that, or the whips are doing acid or fire damage.
Love the 4th troll/orc from the front. He has that facial expression that suggests he “knows something”.
Frigg’s looks remind me of Alana the Lionness. Great comic overall
Man Byron you’d better have a good reason to not be killing slavers now, something like ‘let’s follow them back to their camp and then we can kill all the slavers at once instead of having to hunt them down individually’.
Ah, that last panel. Proof that there’s more about Byron that’s oxymoronic than just his appellation.
Will the real Slim Shady please stand down, please stand down…

Of course they’re hairy. Why d’ya think fire works so well?
Fire always works.
The sight of those slavers seems to be taking a “troll” on Byron’s resolve. XD
It’ll be interesting to see if Byron’s leadership extends past planning the skirmish, since I don’t exactly see Frigg backing down unless Byron has a surprisingly good reason.
Stand down guys. If we follow the trolls, we might find the trollops.
omfg they destroyed dnd!
