A great example, if you ask me. Though I know a woman who frequently threatens me with mortal peril (she’s actually used the words “mortal peril”) but also refuses to actually hit me because she’s certain it would just encourage me. Did I mention that Frigg’s awesome?
As far as a role model goes, mix the Frigg factor with a nun’s getup and it could easily become habit forming.
I think it sets up his pointed statement about Bandit not spending time with her “old comrades.” In one word he lets us know that he found the disconnect ironic.
Yes, you can, but it would be hard to see that face without him facing us, and that would mean rearranging the whole scene. A single word does the same and lets us see a beautifull scene at the same time.
Bandit lying to someone? Please. That’d be like a guy called “Karnage The Bloodied” trying to hit you with something dangerous and/or sharp. Totally unlikely.
I dunno… Bandit is the quintessential thief, but she’s not the deceitful, untrustworthy type. If she’s talking to you seriously and responsibly (especially as the de facto “field commander” of the Adventurers Guild), she means what she says. And Scipio is much sharper than his meatshield role suggests.
Personally, I suspect that Bandit is the type who tells the truth even when she’s lying. She shows as little as she can, and does her best to look duplicitous, so that when she says something true everybody will disbelieve her. And I’d reckon she likes to lie by making the truth sound improbable, and deliberately tell transparent lies now and again. She plays it close though, so we don’t entirely know yet.
The “armed & dangerous” nun trope isn’t new but- DARN IT- why don’t most fantasy MMO’s and video games have such a class? The only one I know is Ragnarok Online. And a female paladin is just not the same. Now that Rachel has become a good guy, I’m getting to like her more and more.
Nun of That is such a ridiculous film. Jesus’ techno song in the middle is my favorite bit, but the part where Sister Mary Wrath loads up on weapons ain’t shabby.
Not really about the comic from today, but I was looking through the wallpaper and I wanted to make a request. Would you please create a wallpaper with the Byron and Syr’Nj kissing scene? I don’t know if that panel would work out or not, and if it doesn’t/you don’t feel like turning it into a wallpaper then that’s ok too. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Also, I think that I should take Frigg as a role model too. She does good just being herself, even with her …slight character flaws.
It’s just because of the angle. It’s a classic Eastwood-Squint; watch the “Dollars” trilogy, and it’s the same thing. You can only see the pupils from a certain angle.
Dammit, now I’m tempted to make a Rachel costume as well as a wood elf costume. STOP MAKING FUN CHARACTERS, I have a backlist of outfits I have to do first!!
It’s amazing what a added group of characters can do sometimes. Have a small tagalong going with my D&D group at the moment and has really made things interesting with the group when there is some new insight and life experience brought in.
Rachel is a pun-spraying machine.
Clearly, Syr’nj has some lingering issues. She’s just dating a human to piss off daddy. She’ll grow out of this phase.
Hey, daddy issues make the world go ’round.
Hey, daddy issues are the only reason I’ve gotten laid.
Yipes.
Agreed
Wow. Even in print fangirls are annoying. Love it.
God help us all, Frigg’s a SQUEEEEE-inducing role-model.
More than just a role model…She’s a Friggin’ Saint, I tell you! Well anyway, Rachael might tell you…
…Why wouldn’t Frigg be a role model?
She’s more of an example than a role model.
A great example, if you ask me. Though I know a woman who frequently threatens me with mortal peril (she’s actually used the words “mortal peril”) but also refuses to actually hit me because she’s certain it would just encourage me. Did I mention that Frigg’s awesome?

Big Red has not uttered a single useless sentence since he showed up.
What about “Funny.”
I think it sets up his pointed statement about Bandit not spending time with her “old comrades.” In one word he lets us know that he found the disconnect ironic.
He’s just that efficient.
Yeah, but you can do that by pulling a silly face :)
Yes, you can, but it would be hard to see that face without him facing us, and that would mean rearranging the whole scene. A single word does the same and lets us see a beautifull scene at the same time.
bah. A truly badass person says it all with actions :)
So mimes are the ultimate badasses?
They can hold you transfixed, completely removing your ability to do anything but stare at them in dumb silence.
Watch this.
Or if for some insane reason you prefer Natilie Imbruglia to Queen… you can have this.
The expression on Bandit’s face in the second panel clearly says “Is Bandit gonna hafta cut a bitch?”
Bandit lying to someone? Please. That’d be like a guy called “Karnage The Bloodied” trying to hit you with something dangerous and/or sharp. Totally unlikely.

And Scipio is much sharper than his meatshield role suggests.
That’s how you know she’s lying.
She’s not the deceitful, untrustworthy type that we know of. We haven’t gotten a great look at how she acts outside of the party.
Personally, I suspect that Bandit is the type who tells the truth even when she’s lying. She shows as little as she can, and does her best to look duplicitous, so that when she says something true everybody will disbelieve her. Moustachio’ed graying CEO guy isnt deceitful or untrustworthy at all
Here’s a thought – What if Bandit isn’t anyone from Sepialand? What if she was actually part of the computer?
Here’s a different thought. What if Bandit originally belonged to a different player?
Where does he keep getting those cigars?
It’s always the same cigar. Cos, magic.
Magic self-repenlishing cigars?…..
Awesome.
Naw, it’s just one, it never burns down, and the smoke is poisonous to goblins.
There’s the layup. Anyone for the dunk?
You’re trying too hard.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
It’s from a magical ever-lasting stock made by the great wizard Eastwood.
Say “Cigar? cigar.”
Wherever they’ll be, they’ll be.
The source is not ours to see.
Say “Cigar, cigar.”
It’s only a model.
I love Rachel so much.
I don’t think she quite gets it.
We’ll have nun of that stuff in *our* videogame.
Nun of That is such a ridiculous film. Jesus’ techno song in the middle is my favorite bit, but the part where Sister Mary Wrath loads up on weapons ain’t shabby.
Thank you so much for that recommendation… I just had a lot of fun!
Wait, is Rachel using ruler machetes? That has to be the most dangerous use of a slide ruler I’ve ever seen.
Standard issue for the Sisterhood of the Bloodshot Eyeball, now reformed into the Sisters of the Unyielding Open Heart. ;-)
She’s taking a measured approach.
Whether it’s to kobold bandits or fire elementals, she won’t give an inch.
She goes to extraordinary lengths to keep the peace.
But she might give a foot or two, depends on the size of the issue.
I doubt it… if you give an inch, they’ll take a mile.
Measure once, cut twice.
Man, I just love that Scipio. Look at him, with his beard scruff a different color than his ginger head hairs. What a guy!
I guess Frigg’s just going to have to…ROLE with it.
*Medieval shades*
AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYE!
VERILLLYYYYYYYYYYY

Raeg’s eyes are showing, shit just got real.
I meant like pupils and shit.
I know! I swear that was done just cuz some of us were lamenting about mid-distance characters having lines to depict eyes earlier.
It’s just because of the angle. It’s a classic Eastwood-Squint; watch the “Dollars” trilogy, and it’s the same thing. You can only see the pupils from a certain angle.
That or it’s the classic Captain Marvel squint.
Picard beat me to it with his astute observation. It’s the only way he could look suspicious of her.
Give it to me hot and steaming after it’s been fondled by your fingers!
Um… Rachel? A bit too much?
Come on E-merl! Thrust your balls at me.
and so on.
Watch out where you shoot that hot stuff, it could get in my eye and make a real mess!
O.o that last panel scares me….that is all.
Dammit, now I’m tempted to make a Rachel costume as well as a wood elf costume. STOP MAKING FUN CHARACTERS, I have a backlist of outfits I have to do first!!
Never.
I love the “extended party” :)
It’s amazing what a added group of characters can do sometimes. Have a small tagalong going with my D&D group at the moment and has really made things interesting with the group when there is some new insight and life experience brought in.
Just wanna say I really like panel 2 with Scipio and Bandit.
I love this comic.
Scipio is so bad-ass his cigars stay lit out of fear.
That’s what she said.
Well, she did…
Rachael’s just looking for someone to measure up!
“Now, Scipio, try a rear assault while E-merl is pounding me!”
Hadouken!
“You know, now I’d like to see E-merl toss his liquid fire at you for a bit, Scipio”
Cue shield deflection, plus accidental “whoops it went towards you, my bad.”
