Said monkey wishing-fist is a reference to the short story “The Monkey’s Paw”. In it, a couple is given a monkey’s paw that will grant them three wishes, each with horrible, ironic consequences. First they wish for some money to pay off their house. Their son dies in a factory accident and they get a health insurance payout. Their second wish is for their son to be brought back to life, and someone starts knocking on their door. When the woman tries to open the door, the man realizes that his son was horribly maimed by the accident, so he wishes him dead again. The woman opens the door to find no one there.

It was also used in an episode of “The Monkees,” which was the first thing that popped into my head… ;-) Cue wacky music video in which everything is resolved 3 minutes later!

I think that either he has started moving beyond humanity or else he’s become secluded to the point he’s manifesting cabin fever. He also should be doing a better job of cleaning up after himself, it’s not like he can bring a janitor in here to do it for him.

I also think that whoever did layout for this page could be doing some heavy business in album art. Is that all Phil?

Yeah, no, he needs a shower and a shave. Order of that is optional, but a shower might help him brainstorm wise too. Lots of people get their best ideas in the shower.

So, bad thing about Monkey’s Paw, you inevitably end up using the last wish to undo the damage your first two wishes created.

Good things about Monkey’s Paw, it’s great for reaching the top shelf and man has never MADE a better back-scratcher.

I’d like to point out the thing that made me creep the hell out in this page.

The Monkey’s Paw/Hand of Glory was one – that in and of itself is just a scary thing.

But HR’s body language, the way he arches towards her in panel 5…

That made me hunch up like he was gonna punch ME.

Damn good job there. HR is seriously losing his puffin stuff.
