I don’t give Gold Stars to anyone who asks for them, or to posts where others request that I do so.

          So in short: Nope.

Weird, this sounds exactly like the protagonist hearing their party member’s backstory and hearing “ask me about it later, after we hit the next story arc, to hear the next part.”

The reason I love this comic is that from the first pen-stroke the characters step forward as people, so when they are in deep, deep shit, you give a damn. Good story-telling. Respect.

Yeah… if I had observed this kind of thing over the course of many pages, I would have said that the new update schedule failed. But it is, of course, too soon to judge yet. It is a big leap the team are taking, but I am frankly more than a tinge disappointed with these apparent dips in quality.

i didnt notice until you said something about the resolution. even now, i really dont mind; they ARE facing a plausible 40% increase in bandwidth costs. maybe (significantly) more… i know absolutely nothing about accounting for bandwidth.

still, i feel compelled to suggest that if you (thats you generally) like the change from 3 to 5 days, then perhaps you (again, not you specifically) should just read the comics and have a coke and a smile and stfu.

i personally wasnt going to say anything on the resolution, but since the topic’s been broached, my two cents..

i am, as a rule, happier to see things done well than i am to see things done quickly. to be honest, if it took a two-week break to get the buffer to a point that the artists felt comfortable smoothing lines that shatter the immersion of the awesome story they’re telling, i’d be okay with that. i’d also be okay seeing a return to the 3-a-week schedule. while i understand and appreciate that this is done with no charge to me, i also, as an avid reader, feel that it is at least tangentially within my scope to comment on such matters.

please dont take this as a “>=O I CANT BELEVE DAT COMIK IS S0 BAD NOW, GAWD”, because it’s not. but i eagerly await the return of the visual quality that helped push GA to the top of my bookmarks, however long that may take.

A scraggedly line breaks your “immersion” in this story?

fwiw, we’ve had copy-pasta in GA before.

Personally, as an artist who occasionally draws comics, I find that there are times where your art really doesn’t need to say something new, and you may as well save time by copy-pasting. Remember a copy-paste means that all the time that would have been spent making that panel awesome can be spent making the other panels more awesome.

No, a scraggedly drawn line does not break my immersion entirely, but cracks it a little bit. I love GA and the team have very good reputation in my mind; so this conversation will probably be forgotten in a month when we’re all happily enjoying high quality, even-more-regular GA. But for now, I look at these little bugs and I feel irritated. And as a reader, paying or not, I have the right to feel that way. I hold GA dear, and I didn’t think I was being unreasonable or trollish, so I mention how I feel in the comments, along with some other readers.

It’s fine if the dip in quality does not affect you, or if you do not percieve it as such. But it affects me, a little at least.

If a scraggedly drawn like does break it for me entirely and I expressed disappointment over it? Then it wouldn’t make me unreasonable, especially as GA has never disappointed me so far. Readers who feel a bit taken aback by these glitches/changes and voice it are just doing what readers do.

hmmm. Yes, complaining about slightly degraded image quality in a comic with an awesome storyline and fantastic characters THAT YOU GET FOR FREE is not unreasonable. Just entitled.

No one asked for it, but that’s my two cents.

It’s not entitled. People like to express opinions on stuff regardless of what it cost them, it’s just natural. We complain about shows on TV we don’t like (that are free), we complain about poor weather (you can bet that’s free). You’re even complaining about his post and if reading it wasn’t free (bandwidth?) then I’m a donkey’s uncle.

It’d be different if there was raging, rudeness or demands being made (you know, actual entitlement) but I’ve seen none of that.

I thought the pixels were intentional, honestly. It’s a game. Games have pixels. Having a little fourth wall come into play every now and again adds to the overarching story.

I still think yesterday’s strip held the true answer he’s withholding from her.

He fought, and inflicted harm on others, for fame, riches, and the acclamation of others… and it left him empty on the inside.

Hence his current path. Panel 4 (yesterday) showed his nature, this is a man who *enjoys* a good fight; he’s Byron, *without* the rage fueling him.
