I’ve always been a fan of “advance to the rear”, but now I think I like yours better.

I like “We’re not retreating… we’re… advancing. Toward future victory!” (from RvB)

… You’re right. It is more subtle when you don’t return the carriage.

The story telling in this webcomic is unbelievably good.

Umm, what? It wasn’t Frigg that got knocked down, it was Commander Badass’ brother

Time for some dwarf Savasi fortress tactics.

Wow, they are SO upset about that battle of Burning Heels.
Why not just offer them some antifungal foot powder?

Savasi = elite mobs of the Savage Races.

Eh, I like fighting the Elites when they stand and do battle. When they keep hiding behind stuff and the Grunts keep pumping me full of plasma so I can’t get them before their shields come back up, then it gets annoying.

Huh, we have a legit healer now? That would have been useful all those other times before now.

I thought their motto was “Kill ’em with falling damage!”

Seems to be their only successful tactic so far.

…and it’s about to happen very quickly, judging by the last panel.

Actually, “Kill ’em with falling damage” is just the low-tech solution. Slightly more sophisticated and much more powerful solutions usually involve drawbridges or magma.

They actually look at maps when planning their battles, then confuse everyone else by moving sensibly.

If only our heroes would read this comic they would know that they are heading into a trap that they have already fallen it to.

Y’know, that works on so many levels.

Well, actually two levels: the surface, and the bottom of the crevasse. :D

    Have Fun!

Who is doing the talking? One of the Savasi? Or Bandit?

Frigg might finally start respecting Rachel, if she wasn’t busy and noticed her blocking a Savasi hammer with her forearms!!!

The words are Gravedust’s, continuing from the last page. The rest of this page is at the time shortly before the most recent present (Bandit is currently thinking back on everything as she runs away from the Savasi seen on this page, all after the rest of the peacemakers fell into the trap also visible here). The visuals have jumped forward in time from the last page to demonstrate what Gravedust is (was) talking about, which is also what Bandit has seen and experienced before the trap was sprung.

Holeh crap, they just knocked down Scipio. In true Scipian fashion (and ironically), that says a lot without using any words.

    Cross-blocking never works.
Against a warhammer, it is the height of folly.
Rachel’s determination to lose horribly is impressively suicidal.

She’s using her glowy shit to protect and or attack with that move. Glowy shit that while weaker than her beloved Frigg seems to get the job done as often as not.

If she can use the force to block the hammer with her arms then she could have used the force to parry that same hammer with one arm and punch the Savasi holding it with the other… in a single movement.
