The fact that they started this chapter off with the disaster and then backtracked to the buildup so that it wouldn’t come seemingly out of nowhere tipped me off that someone was gonna die, actually. Common writing trick. Though it’s just as common to play off of people’s knowledge of it and receptiveness to it, and have them survive after all.
You’ve never played any Pen and Paper RPGs have you? Primal power characters (druids, rangers etc…) constantly break them simply because they have too many uses for their abilities and adapt way too well.
I didn’t even realize she was a druid. Thought she was just some weirdo who talked to squirrels until she started rending the earth with her tree-magic.
Freedom inconveniently reveals ‘sexy time’
…..Ok. I respect that.
You’re actually getting really good at this.
Nice.
Rachel was ready to rock, but this just boulder over!
I hope the fading out of “live” isn’t a bad sign.
i’m guessing that wednesday will have bad news for ya m8.
Ultimate cosmic power is always more fun if it has hideous repercussions. That’s like rule 5 of GMming.
Phenomal! Cosmic! Power!
Itty bitty living space.
Yeah, but I’m going to be so disappointed if she’s dead after such a short time as part of the group.
I really doubt she’s going to die. Too soon, too undramatic, to kill off Syr’s sister after everything that’s happened to her recently.

She might wilt, a bit. But, put her in the sunlight and water her feet, and she’ll spring back in no time.
The roots dusting off the hat is the best damn thing.
Ah, so I’m not the only one that caught that.
Wow, this page was the pits.
Also, the roots are returning Rachel’s ruler.
And the axes.
But not Scipios or Friggs weapons, there a message behind that?
Probably not. Scip and Frigg are currently unoccupied… unlike Rachel and E-Merl.
The roots are simply being considerate… just like Fr’NJ.
P.S. — Bandit’s probably gonna tease the shit out of the Peacemaker’s newest couple…
P.P.S. — And I suspect we’ve have to wait awhile for a Merl/Rachel ‘naughty time’ strip (in the Scip/Fr’NJ vein…).
Very Seussian!
Soo. Fr’NJ is a surprisingly powerful asset to the team. How about that?
And here I thought she was relatively useless and going to be the one character who wants to prove herself and learn to fight…

well, until you end up on the wrong end of a portal to the Far Realm. then you’re pretty much fucked any way you see it.

Head druid. Of the Wood Elves. We haven’t really seen her powers until now but she’s probably CRAZY powerful.
Those words run deep.
Rocks lift.
Trees die.
. . .She’s going to die now, isn’t she?
Don’t think so but a few of those trees won’t be standing next spring.
Bandit…resisting….urge to spit.
This is why every party should have at least one spellcaster.
And E-Merl doesn’t count?
Emerl is a spellcaster lime Melt is in tower of Duraga.
I types good yes?
Well, it’s good to see that her spell took root.
Yes, it really opened up their options, didn’t it?
Rachel and Merl seem to be quite tongue-in-cheek.
Why is there only ever one healer? Use the buddy system, people!
…and keep some backup scrolls, just in case.
Anyone else see that root handing the yardsticksword back to Rachel–and the other roots dusting of E-Merl’s hat like a little Dr. Seuss picture?
Abso-root-ley!
Oops. Didn’t see your comment, but I totally thought Dr. Seuss!
So, Fringe is the new Syringe?
Maybe…but with a head injury and no other High Druids around, Fr’Nj is just going to be the new vegetable.
Your avatar is too spot on for that *grin*
Just realized GD isn’t on this mission. Hmm….
That’s just one freakin’ beautiful page.
We have the Hole story, but still no word on the Flooding Dungeon Cell story.
By the way, how hurt do you have to be to start talking like Shatner? If it’s Fr’Nj, she must be far more hurt than I thought.
Holy MJ…that some powerful druidism!
Pass the Douche from the left hand side!
The alt text, it hurts us.
Linear humans, quadratic wood-elves.
And just like that, I understand the philosophy of wood elves in most fantasy settings.
Hey Scippy! Hedge your bets; knock out Frigg while she isn’t looking and see how the cards play out.
Those roots are coming down from the sky. Is the tree they belong to levitating in the air?
Rachel and E-Merl’s faces xD
Very Bluemilkrun-ish.
Busted.
And control plants saves the day, and people said it was a waste of spell slot.
They won’t be saying that when she’s feeling up to more sexytimes. Scipio will probably find his limbs root-bound.
