I like this little bit of character development for Shanna. Now it’s just a question of where is she headed off to.

Did I mention I do like this character. That last page is a bit too much to wrap my head around. Good thing you don’t have to go through a metal detector when traveling this way. Eh?

i want to make a prediction. and i maybe wrong on this. Shanna will make an attempt to kill H.R. H.R. punks her with his magic. he sees the truth and can’t explain it away any more. off she goes into a new tube and a new character shows up inside the game.

He’d have no reason to. He’d just kill her like he did Ferris, no need to go through the trouble of making an entire other tube for a nosy reporter.

Plus, killing doesn’t really seem to be Shanna’s m.o.

I’ve enjoyed seeing this Fans! character again very much, sir. When she first admitted to a belief in magic, I wasn’t sure if it was calming interview tactics or a shared universe. The Shana I always loved was dedicated to finding and exposing the truth because her mother’s illness made her mistrust fantasy and mental escape. Seeing this story evolve; where these elements are the forces she is trying to battle… love it. Thanks again, sir.

Neeto mosquito you got her random avatar. Yeah I guess if I had slogged all the way through the archives of Faans I wouldnt have been so surprized or shocked.

After meeting him at Dragon Con the last few years, he’s as large as ever, and a super nice guy, to boot!

That last line probably is the correct one to keep her mother from worrying (might cause her mother to want to join her in the fight though…)

Pretty close! They’re both names that came from my head, so there’s probably something subconscious going on there, but I think they have different etymologies. I picked the candidate’s name because it seemed like a lot of political candidates in races I was following had last names like Wright, Lawe or Deeds, names that kind of lent themselves to campaign slogans. Payet Best was originally inspired by Pete Best, “the fifth Beatle,” though we quickly realized that a hero who thinks he’s the best and is named Best would just attain an extra whiff of insufferability.

Wasn’t Pete a drummer though? Is that why you expunged* him and replaced him with that new Tectonicus Avatar?

*tried to find the soundbite of some guy saying ‘expunged’, but can’t even be sure which guy said it

I will die laughing if the four in the tubes ends up being the four main folks from Faans.

        Kath as Gravedust
        Rikk as Byron
        Ally as Frigg
        Rumy as Syr’Nj
        Will as Best

Would suit the polar opposites of MOST of their personalities, save for Ally and Rumy.

I’d rather the Fans! characters just… stay there.
Bad enough already having Shanna invading this story, without the rest of them taking over and turning this whole thing into just another Fans! sub-plot.
Sooner or later a dude needs to learn to let go of the past.
