This is why people shouldn’t meet themselves. They generally can’t stand to be around themselves very long.

I had the… interesting… luck to get a carbon copy of myself as a younger sibling. Eight years younger.

Our relationship is strained by my desire to erase all memory of what a brat I was eight years ago.

Byron axes himself the biting questions, but he’ll be able to take his problems in his teeth now, so he won’t be chained down by past failings any more. He might even have a ball, if only he can get into the swing of things. Of course, Hammerhead has a wider perspective on the issue, even if he and Byron can’t see eye to eye.

Meanwhile, hats off to Bandit for keeping her head in the game. Most like her would either try to ride out the chaos or steal the spotlight, but she doesn’t let her allies fly solo. She may not be used to having legit authority, but I trust she’ll shoulder the responsibility without overburdening her subordinates.

On the positive side, Byron’s done a pretty respectable job of holding out against an extraordinarily powerful berserker, without resorting to “specials”.

They seem to have had a go at ham-stringing him, but they have failed. Lots of lacerations all over, but nothing even close to crippling. The fact that he’s not a ham may have something to do with it.

No, they haven’t tried hamstringing HAMMY yet (the hamstring is on the back of the lower leg, between the calf and Achilles tendon, and currently protected by the strap on the shinguard)

BZZZZZ! That’s the gastrocnemius. The hamstrings (aka hammies, aka hamsters) is behind the upper leg, betwixt the rear-knee and the bootyus maximus… uhh gluteus maximus. To hamstring, means to cut any number of the five muscles or their tendons attaching at the rear of the knee.

Too bad they really need his rabies.

Unless Goblaurence finishes building that tactical nuke, Byron manifesting the madness would force the so-called-savages to retreat, or at least enact their “screw this, we’re outta here” part (leaving rabies solve itself and arrowing the hell of whatever survived from a safe distance).

      Just think about it.

GIANT RABID LANDSHARK BERSERKER. A cross-bred nightmare on PCP.

Whatever side it fights for, everybody loses. Byron as well should push the “mutual destruction button” there and hope for WHAARGARRRBL

Maybe the “telephone” (hit both ears simultaneously, swinging arms around from each side) could be adapted? Of course, Hammerhead’s response so such a dial-in might be a little more biting than simply putting a hand up vertically in front of his nose by way of defending himself.

Yeah, I’m wondering why Byron thinks he’s a berserker when he’s shown none of the frothiness, he’s way, way in control, and he’s only been fighting for a few minutes. And he’s in the same army as Harky, who’d terrified of berserkers and their ‘disease’. Perhaps he thinks that all sharkpeople are berserkers? It irrationally irritates me now.

Really, the only ‘berserk’ things Hammerhead’s shown is that he’s got a super high pain threshold and he’s vicious. Look at his face, he’s enjoying himself. That’s not the same rage-filled, frothing madness that Byron had. Byron was super pissed even when he was killing. This guy seems like he’s having a grand old time.

Have we seen any of his allies since he broke the gate? Either they had the sense to back off or they were launched before the story moved back to HAMMERHEAD.

He broke the gate and they poured into the stronghold. Remember, Syr’nj threw her flashbang and the dwarf chick caught it in a rocky fist, with Hammerhead in the same panel? Then Penk stepped through the gate and, presumably, the Savage Races poured in while Byron and Scipio engaged Hammerhead just outside.

Well they’ve hammered (pun intended) Hammerhead’s HP, that is a lot of gashes and blood, but the Juggernaut remains standing. Byron had better hope that potion of speed stays on for a bit, because with no Scipio to distract/ add to the damage, Byron is pretty outmatched.

That being said, never try to reach in for a bite when your opponent is dual-wielding axes near your face, I don’t care how good your pain threshold is. A armored headbutt/ stomp, swat is much less dangerous.

If the swiftness potions still stay on and Scipio isn’t out cold he should be able to make it back into the fight fast. Either he has changed the sword from his left to his right hand again (and turned in midflight) or he has held it in his right all the time (the previous page was confusing) – either way, I’m hoping he still has a grip on the handle and is therefore conscious.

Previous page’s last panel showed him from the front and thus the sword in the right hand, but his face isn’t visible due to speed, comic effects etc.

Honestly dunno why Hammerhead was still playing with those flails anyways. Now that he’s down to just one opponent, it’d actually be much easier to get him with his bare hands than with a ball on a chain. Much less predictable. An object in motion tends to stay in motion, etc, so you can kinda see where that flail is going and just… not be there.

Hammerhead’s weight class doesn’t even exist. Byron wouldn’t stand a chance if he grapples him. Hammerhead could twist him into a pretzel.

…honestly, not sure why he was using flails at all. He’s a sharkzerker! You don’t give that kind of technical weapon to a madman! You give him a rock on a stick!

Hammerhead, right now, is basically that little kid who gets into a slapfight with a friend and starts windmilling. “I’m going to hold onto the chain and spin around in circles. And if you get hit, it’s your own fault.”

(Honestly) Not sure if you’re joking… If not you should consider, that “worst” can mean different things here. To me it’s obvious that Byron doesn’t consider that fighting prowess of Hammerhead “worse”.
