Maybe not clones. He is in a video game (presumeably). What if H.R. just reactivatd someone’s accounts or created new characters that look like Byron’s bros?
Which little guy? There’s two of them. (Both are gnomes, though. Check the Rabbit and Tobias Gnipgnop tags….actually, I’m not sure if Rabbit is ever specifically identified as a gnome, but gnomes are the only wee race.)
2nd panel, “Want me to lure me in.” Sounds like one too many me’s in there but maybe this odd manner of speech was intended? Doesn’t feel like its necessary but, eh, pointed it out so I leave it to future generations.
In fact, a trap you know is coming can be turned into a trap for the enemy.
… Unless they know you know.
unless of course if you know that they know that you know…
….unless……if you know that they know… that…that you know that you don’t know you….fuck….
I believe you were at “Australians”.
Those shadows… those axes :x

This is where we discover (or are reminded) dual-wielded hand axes are standard equipment for beserkers in this game…
Oh no. I recognize those axes.
Is the little guy a gnome? I guess he would have to be, they don’t have halfings in this world, right?

Well Byron, let me axe you sumthin’…
If you knew the cultists had a plan in the works, why weren’t you more prepared for when they hatchet?

Zombies in 5…4…3…2…
If you read “Consult a Cultist” a couple weeks ago, You will remember that they do not tolerate necromancy. Permanent death is kind of their bag.
That’s assuming Cultists are the only threat in the deep dark woods.
Other than a certain philosopher wizard specialized in MMO evelopment, I bet they are. The Bayen/Brayen analogues are probably illusions of some kind.
That would be an odd coincidence unless the cultists set up a trap in which the Peacekeepers are lured into fighting a mutual enemy.
Looks like Axemass came early this year.
You there! Shower yourselves! I can smell you from one mile upwind!
A mile UPwind? Damn, that must be a mighty powerful stink!
Really, really hoping those aren’t his brothers.
Ah, Braggadocio! Only you can make Scipio look like a midget.
Hmmm…those axes seem familiar…
And suddenly: Winter Elves.
It’s not the ambusher you see that’s the problem.
People this could be an area where you have to fight a physical manifestation of your darker side.
Those axes look familiar…
They’re the axes of evil !
I know I’ve been reading too much of this when Bryon shows up in my dreams…
