She suspected, after that shit lie, and wanted to confirm her suspicions in a way that would hurt E-Merl the least. Also, possibly distract him so she could escape.
Sigh. I’ll try …
Scip, E-Merl, Rach, Bandit – must all be from Eastern Europe. Another Serb – Croat problem.
‘Cept this time one of the S.E.R.B.’s … croaked.
But still, her character model data must be there somewhere to be able to generate it in-world. Eh, it probably isn’t enough to reconstruct anything useful anyway.
Gah, just came on to make this call, but you beat me to it! Curses!
Though I doubt she’ll try to grab the portal-to-sky-elf-city bangle (which is on his wrist, and his hands are involved in spellcasting so grabbing it would likely be noticed even with Bandit’s Mad Skillz.
My bet is on her just jumping for the ALREADY OPEN exit portal, dodging the GolemGuard(tm) and making a dash for it.
I don’t think she’d be stupid to the point of making things worse for her.
If she has sense, and I think she has, she knows her evasion will distract ressources from fighting this war they’re in. And she doesn’t want that, does she?
I don’t know… I don’t trust those big puppy eyes for a second, and I’m surprised E-Merle does. If she escapes, I think it’s much more wasteful for anyone to bother using any resources trying to find her instead of fighting the all-important war. Let her go for now, and we’ll find her when all this crap is over and done with.
Unless anyone thinks she would defect to the other side, and no one should have much reason to believe that, I don’t think they have TOO much to worry about if she gets out; she’d probably be hell-bent on getting as far away from right there as possible, thus not sticking around to cause any trouble for her friends. (Or have to face Syr, and be tossed into a worse jail or something)
At least, that’s how I’m seeing it. Sure, she probably will make it worse for her case by running off, but I think Bandit’s the type to do that instead of hanging around waiting for punishments from obviously emotional authority… maybe?
That’s exactly what I said; no one has any reason to believe that Bandit would do that, so I don’t see why it would be all that important to waste resources seeking her out to stop her from spilling valuable info to anyone, or something like that.
Catching up on the archive so don’t know what will happen but if she escapes maybe she’ll join Fr’Nj/and Scipio? That’d be cool, seperate arch-worthy imo.
The sky elves haven’t changed their golem design all that much since ancient times. Except for scaling it down, of course.
Also, that last panel is beautifully sad and a work of art all on its own. You could frame it and hang it on the wall and it wouldn’t look out of place.
Yowch. Salt in the wound for a moment, there. But yes, this seems uncharacteristic of Bandit, in some ways. And by that, I mean she’s up to something. Which, I suppose, is characteristic of her.
That’s kinda mean Bandit…
Is that a Golem Guard?
She didn’t know about the death.
Not what I meant.
what did you mean?
She suspected, after that shit lie, and wanted to confirm her suspicions in a way that would hurt E-Merl the least. Also, possibly distract him so she could escape.
Rock-Em Sock-Em Gol-Em?
We prefer animated law enforcer.
Critical feels.
Getting a 1 on your self-control roll.
Well…that was sad.
Where are all the puns? Someone needs to put a positive spin on that last panel.
Sigh. I’ll try …
Scip, E-Merl, Rach, Bandit – must all be from Eastern Europe. Another Serb – Croat problem.
‘Cept this time one of the S.E.R.B.’s … croaked.
Urk. Pun? Yes. Positive Spin? Fail. Sorry.
Ugh… That’s awful. That’s really really terrible. I laughed, but it’s still a godawful pun.
The worse a pun the better
E-Merl ain’t no hat-er.
E-Merl’s stiff upper lip in panel 5 … plus Bandit’s forced smile in 4 … Rachel’s visual memory … breakin’ my heart.
Stiff upper lip, yeah. Lower lip is quivering so much you could store arrows in it.
Ha!
240p illusion in 2015?
He can’t afford super fast broad brim.
That or he could only get Cromcast. You know how barbaric their service always is.
(singing)
Somewhere, over the Verizon
Data is lost…
I’m surprised that Rachel even managed to appear in the illusion. I half expected her to be purged from the world’s history.
That’s… That’s a very distinctly-voiced gravatar ya gots there. :)
I’m envisioning a string of viral YouTube videos* a la “Hitler reacts to” except it’s Admiral Annunziata doing the reacting.
*(Or should that be “YouMerl illusions”?)
Her character is purged from the reality, but the memories of other players are not edited out when they express those memories.
But still, her character model data must be there somewhere to be able to generate it in-world. Eh, it probably isn’t enough to reconstruct anything useful anyway.
Aw, man, I was getting ready to go to bed when I remembered to check this site. Now I’m gonna have sad dreams.
I’m sorry, but is that an ANIMAL CROSSING reference in the alt-text???
Bandit is clearly about to snatch his portal thing.
Inorite? Please distract yourself while the door’s open, kthxb’bai.
Or use the double to do a switcheroo.
She hides herself in his hat while he’s not looking, so he leaves in a hurry thinking she already escaped behind her.
Gah, just came on to make this call, but you beat me to it! Curses!

My Gravatar = E-Merl when he looks up and sees her gone – “dang, I totally should have seen that one coming…”

“Defect to the other side”?? You mean join the world’s rebellion? Or maybe the cultists? Not likely.
If Bandit manages to escape? She will go rogue.
That’s exactly what I said; no one has any reason to believe that Bandit would do that, so I don’t see why it would be all that important to waste resources seeking her out to stop her from spilling valuable info to anyone, or something like that.

Bandit pleaded until she was blue in the eyes.
e-merl’s face: ultimate SADNESS
What does the counter say about E-Merl’s sadness level?
It’s higher than 8000!
ITS OVER 9000!!!!!
It’s……at 9001. Meh.

I second this motion. John – you really nailed it on that last panel.
Thank you, l33tninja!
Or you could also take Psolo Ghoti’s suggestion & nail it up on the wall.
Show me on the doll where you felt the feel.
Yowch. Salt in the wound for a moment, there. But yes, this seems uncharacteristic of Bandit, in some ways. And by that, I mean she’s up to something. Which, I suppose, is characteristic of her.
Whatever. She’s up to something.
It wasn’t hard for E-Merl because there were so many non-him illusions to do.
It was hard because he would see Rachel again.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, shes gone
I came here to laugh, not to feel dot jay peg.
is bandit a player or a npc? they could be screen shoting to prove that rachel exsited since the admins are being suspect with the character deletion.
She’s a player: http://guildedage.net/comic/chapter-33-page-14/
“Remember…An enemy is just a friend who’s trying to kill you.”
…I wonder what the players are thinking of all this.
