She suspected, after that shit lie, and wanted to confirm her suspicions in a way that would hurt E-Merl the least. Also, possibly distract him so she could escape.

Gah, just came on to make this call, but you beat me to it! Curses!

Though I doubt she’ll try to grab the portal-to-sky-elf-city bangle (which is on his wrist, and his hands are involved in spellcasting so grabbing it would likely be noticed even with Bandit’s Mad Skillz.

My bet is on her just jumping for the ALREADY OPEN exit portal, dodging the GolemGuard(tm) and making a dash for it.

I don’t think she’d be stupid to the point of making things worse for her.
If she has sense, and I think she has, she knows her evasion will distract ressources from fighting this war they’re in. And she doesn’t want that, does she?

I don’t know… I don’t trust those big puppy eyes for a second, and I’m surprised E-Merle does. If she escapes, I think it’s much more wasteful for anyone to bother using any resources trying to find her instead of fighting the all-important war. Let her go for now, and we’ll find her when all this crap is over and done with.

Unless anyone thinks she would defect to the other side, and no one should have much reason to believe that, I don’t think they have TOO much to worry about if she gets out; she’d probably be hell-bent on getting as far away from right there as possible, thus not sticking around to cause any trouble for her friends. (Or have to face Syr, and be tossed into a worse jail or something)

At least, that’s how I’m seeing it. Sure, she probably will make it worse for her case by running off, but I think Bandit’s the type to do that instead of hanging around waiting for punishments from obviously emotional authority… maybe?

“Defect to the other side”?? You mean join the world’s rebellion? Or maybe the cultists? Not likely.
If Bandit manages to escape? She will go rogue.

That’s exactly what I said; no one has any reason to believe that Bandit would do that, so I don’t see why it would be all that important to waste resources seeking her out to stop her from spilling valuable info to anyone, or something like that.

The sky elves haven’t changed their golem design all that much since ancient times. Except for scaling it down, of course.

Also, that last panel is beautifully sad and a work of art all on its own. You could frame it and hang it on the wall and it wouldn’t look out of place.
