Frigg_Fanboi is correct. She is my favorite from Shortpacked which when I first created a Gravatar account and as much as I love this comic I have yet to find an equivalent to replace her.
A farther shot in Chapter 32, page 23 shows that there are at least ten seats in the Hall, so there are plenty of seats for the missing members and Syr’Nj (whose seat is probably the one next to Bedard, which is missing the quill Kur’Ik is writing with and has a pile of her papers next to it).

I’m really not. But if your response to any criticism I have is “stop having that same criticism over and over,” then how about a brand new one:
After witnessing the guild self destructing after Byron’s death, torn apart by grief, anger, and recriminations, delving into the minutiae of this council of merchants, and the power plays within seems like a needless delving into low-stakes territory. Even the coup has been executed in a narratively bloodless way: “Oh, this guy’s sick, this guy’s on a leave of absence.” It seems like you’re trying to make us not care.
I’m genuinely hoping for some kind of assassination attempt or other dynamic resolution to this.
You have a real habit of doing this very shortly before we do a thing.
We write chapters as whole units, as if they were issues of a comic book, whole chapters. Not necessarily for the day to day update, though we *try* to keep it riveting every single day, we are more often writing “for the archive.”
We’re just over half way through this chapter and if you’re still unpleased at its conclusion, you may well have a valid complaint about it in my eyes.
So, as I often *can* only say without risking spoilers, just stay tuned.
Why does it even bother you that Phil is defending his creative decisions in a rational manner? Just stop lecturing the author, dude. It’s unnecessary.

Some people like suspense and building up to major plot developments (one of which is obviously going to happen soon) rather then all action and fights and explosions all the time. If that isn’t your thing, maybe you would have more fun going off to watch a Michel Bay film.
Coups usually start on bloodless level, it’s the end game that often gets bloody.
I like reading about political maneuvering, apparently many here do. It is also a good time for a breather, after a row of very violent events.
That is how good writing works. You can’t build up tension endlessly. You need to pace it, and this chapter is doing it well by making another kind of suspense.
To be perfectly honest, I hate politics. I’ve not seen anything positive result from politics. Especially here in the real world, politics tends to take over everything & engorge on the profits, leaving only dregs for the mass population…Even though it’s the mass population that drives the very same mechanism that exploiters use to conduct politics.
Yeah, politics is dirty tricks, back-stabbing, self serving egomania. And these guys here write Gastonian politics in much the same way it happens in real life…Which only reminds me of how much I hate politcs.
And look at all these opinions. It’s almost like legit criticism causes people to examine and discuss the work. Like, criticism might be healthy for a narrative!
I’m trying to remember why Syr’Nj even WANTS to join up with the Gastonians. Maybe just go team up with the Savage Races and let Gastonia flush themselves with their arrogance.
Miyamoto really is infuriating. He’s just as much an ignorant asshole as Annunziata, but with a few more ounces of self-preservation. If he had been a little more stupid, he could’ve gotten himself kicked out in hilarious fashion, and if he’d been a little smarter, he could’ve been a schemer, like a lesser Iwatani. Instead, all he does is make me want to punch him.
And you just know he’s the kind of guy who, if Syr’Nj HAD shown grief in front of the council, would have turned right around and claimed that perhaps her Grace “has not the suitable emotional fortitude to handle the state of affairs during a time of crisis. Typical of elven stock to be unable to handle the burdens of war.”
It doesn’t add up. Sure, Pardo makes sense, but how were Persson and Reynolds failing in their duties? Isn’t the fact that Reynolds is so overworked proof that he is performing his duties admirably?
Pardo’s lumber shows little promise of wood as his efforts grow more and more defoliated. 6/10 -IGN

It’s the opposite, she’s going to want to get to the root of the problem, and weed out the bad.
She’s more likely to hedge her bets while planting seeds of insurrection at the same time.
