Watching John with the dwarf, it was suddenly so clear. The mystic, would never stop. It would never leave him, and it would never hurt him, never shout at him, or get drunk and hit him, or say it was too busy to spend time with him. It would always be there. And it would die, to protect him. Of all the would-be fathers who came and went over the years, this thing, this gravedust, was the only one who measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.

Is it weird that I literally fell out of my chair laughing at the alt text?

Well, it came too late; the only human in that cave is already dead.

I said the humans are dead (I’m glad they are dead)
The humans are dead. (I noticed they’re dead)
We used poisonous gases (With traces of lead)
And we poisoned their asses (Actually their lungs)

It had to be done so we could have fun.

Now the desecration of the corpse makes sense.

Ah the point in the MMO when you no longer care about the game but wish to continue playing.

    – First panel is essentially creepy, yet it primarily invokes pity. I think that is very neat. Kudos!

    – I took me a while to understand that the text between brackets is Gravedust comparing his own experience to Byron’s. Maybe rewrite “Much as he” into “Just like Byron”, for clarity?

‘Just as he’ seems perfectly clear to me. I suggest you watch less TV that by necessity spoon feed to the least common denominator and instead pick up some of the grandmasters which expect thinking while reading.

That may be the most Conceited and Pretentious comment i have ever read on a comment section of a webcomic. Like wow. Impressive but sad.

        Please.

This is a fantasy comic that’s founded on being a parody of World of Warcraft.

Miss all of us with your media format elitism.

I did stumble over that. My first thought was that he was imagining a decaying corpse as a young soldier who had lain there, dying, so it took me a moment to realize that he was imagining the young Byron.

It links up nicely to the last frame though.
