I don’t think Doggo lives here. I think Doggo lives in the dream world/afterlife. So he probably could of appeared whenever/wherever he wanted too. He just wanted to wait til she had worked/quested for her answers. And the elf, seeing the future, probably decided an empty chasm was a relatively safe place for Frigg & Doggo to have a “friendly” chat.
Weo saw that doing a faceplant in a nearby chasm was the quickest way for Frigg to start an uninterrupted nap. Her dreamscape just looks like the last thing she saw, before she lost consciousness.
At least one of them’s going to be howling in pain before this is over.
