In a ruin-abound town cursed with bad luck, Kai and Kalla--a young boy and a fledgling dragonbird spirit--take on a quest in hopes the reward will solve all of their problems.
Could be worse you could have your D&D char. introduced into the campaign by “‘As you come upon the clearing you hear muffled screams and see what appears to be a bugbear doing indecent things to an elf hogtied over a tree stump.’ I’d encourage you to introduce yourself now but you cant really speak as your mouth is full of what was once your underclothes.”
… In follow-on from my last comment however, with uncanny timing indeed, using “y’all” ironically is perfectly fine (as I would assume is the case here by the use of quotation marks within the text). In fact I fully endorse the ironic use thereof in mockery of those whose use of the term is… less so.
On an utterly unrelated note… I’ll never get used to D&D Kobolds.
Just what ARE they precisely?
In the systems I was used to before D&D, Kobolds were just a subtype of Goblins.
” In fact I fully endorse the ironic use thereof in mockery of those whose use of the term is… less so.”
Mmhmm. Uuuuuh huh. Yip yap yepperoonii.
Sound ta me like somb’dydone gots a problem what wit’s t’e talkin’ good.
I me’n, my mammie coulda comed up wit’ a better des-cur-iptive set o’ word-things tan “less so.”
But I reckin them thar yappers is gon’ yap an’er ain’t much what fer it.
Not t’e mention tha typo what seems ta be glarin’.

Happened to me once. Honest. Although it was rabid gnomes instead.

Wow…. Seriously? Oo Man, and i thought my first time playing “Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy” was tough! ^^
So was that really a bugbear, or one of the offshoot species of the tribe? Sounds more like the buggerybear to me.
Are we speaking from prior experience Sterling
Sadly yes
That is so very unfortunate.
poor fellow, Sterling… XD

Thank u I was thinking kobolds and they are well I got to look it up in the 3.5 book but I think draconic but who knows
Apparently from what I can gather… as of 3rd edition they have been reptilian.
Prior to 3rd edition in D&D they were dog-like humanoids.
And as previously mentioned, in the continuity that introduced me to fantasy: the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks… Kobolds are just a subtype of Goblin.
I don’t believe I’ll ever get used to them being reptiles.
Not even thanks to Deekin (Shadows of Undrentide add-on to Neverwinter Nights).
