In fact she probably knows a few that would get Embraisch’nj barred from performing if told in public, or at least from performing before the watershed.
Diplomacy: F, based on the strips where he brought Canaghem to see Embraisch’Nj.*
Internal politics: F, both on making and identifying allies.
Military prowess: F, based on comments by Byron and Ardaic. (Granted, told not shown, and not by completely unbiased reporters, but I’ll take pretty much anybody’s word over Annunziata’s.)
So…is the Admiralty a hereditary position, or something? I’m not sure how he keeps it, otherwise.
* OTOH, this strip suggests that either that is deliberate, or that he’s learned a lesson (albeit, the wrong one) from that incident.
It would seem Persson is aware that the Admiral’s plan is a terrible one. I wonder if he will remember that Annunziata is the head of the navy and the fact that his plans are terrible is probably very bad for Gastonia.
He IS a guildmaster, all the other heads are IN CHARGE of something whereas, while he’s still in charge of the mining guild, he’s also to a degree their REPRESENTATIVE. Unlike basically every other human head he’s kind of obligated to look after interests beyond his own.
Looks like Embraisch’Nj is undergoing his first consciousness raising.
Do you think he’s branching out?
Nah, if they eat it up all the time, why leaf?
Yeah, I woodn’t be concerned.
I bet Syr’Nj knows all the best Wood-Elf jokes. She was in the military, after all.
In fact she probably knows a few that would get Embraisch’nj barred from performing if told in public, or at least from performing before the watershed.
Probably gonna regret saying that where he could hear.
That’s what I thought. Embry’s facial expression isn’t that of someone who plans to play along.
Panel 4 belies a lack of poker face. I hope he just makes boat puns all show.
“So I did a show for the good admiral and he had a whaler of a time”
etc etc.
Yes, because when Syr’nj has her delicate sensibilities offended the one thing she’s known for doing is backing down instantly.
well being a wood elf herself you just have to wonder how delicate her sensibilities really are.
probably gonna be a fistfight between wood elves in the middle o the meeting…
The thing about wood elves, they have roots, and roots stand pretty firm.
Annunziata’s report card:
Diplomacy: F, based on the strips where he brought Canaghem to see Embraisch’Nj.*
Internal politics: F, both on making and identifying allies.
Military prowess: F, based on comments by Byron and Ardaic. (Granted, told not shown, and not by completely unbiased reporters, but I’ll take pretty much anybody’s word over Annunziata’s.)

* OTOH, this strip suggests that either that is deliberate, or that he’s learned a lesson (albeit, the wrong one) from that incident.
Also, panel 4…Embraisch’Nj’s offense, and the Guildmaster’s ‘did he really just say that?’ 4th wall breaking crack me up…
It would seem Persson is aware that the Admiral’s plan is a terrible one. I wonder if he will remember that Annunziata is the head of the navy and the fact that his plans are terrible is probably very bad for Gastonia.
He don’t know Syr’Nj very well do he? “said in my best Bugs Bunny voice”
Damnit! It’s YOU again!!! o_O
Was just going to post that!!!!!!!!
Great Gravedust’s think alike.
GMTA!
In what little we’ve seen of him, Persson has always struck as the one unequivocally reasonable human on the council.
He IS a guildmaster, all the other heads are IN CHARGE of something whereas, while he’s still in charge of the mining guild, he’s also to a degree their REPRESENTATIVE. Unlike basically every other human head he’s kind of obligated to look after interests beyond his own.
Also, being guildmaster of the mining guild probably denotes a bit more familiarity with the common people.
Well, yes. He’s a lot more down-to-earth, after all.
Dunno whether his good nature will hold up for long, but he’s certainly got style–that coat is the Shit.
I know, It makes me want him to speak in a Russian accent.
30 lesser coats died to make that coat….
Wait, is it just me, or does GM Perrson look a lot (little?) like Ferris?
Well, I guess they are both male. And human. And…
…
no that’s about it
well, they kinda look like Gravedust in that they all have gray hair
Go back a page and look at Ferris without his glasses
That reaction was perfect. Loving where this is going.
well someone is looking a bit duar-fish.
Way ahead of you alt-text!
Oh, he’s not an idiot, just an ass.
I’m sure the guild needs a good comedian. They can call him a ‘morale officer.’ That’s a better title than ‘stick dick,’ at any rate.
