Even Rachel can’t quite miss how shifty the sisters have been acting by now, but she’s not trying to entrap them in panels 2-3. She wants them to be innocent. She wants to prove their innocence beyond any doubt. Too bad.
Maybe Blair used to be sweeter or more idealistic, but the way she is these days, I doubt she minds mercenary work too much. Bringing that up is just a way for Hestia to grasp for sympathy.
We never nailed down what injustice it was that Tamara saw, but according to my unofficial, drafted notes, it was something to do with Cultism. Since Cultism is an informal contest to create the greatest abomination to life and is especially fond of victimizing children, you can probably imagine how that’d go.
Hestia seems to hesitate when it comes time to mention her own hardships (“And–“), as if she still has difficulty doing so. Blair, sensing this, picks this moment to interrupt. But she’s first to realize what’s becoming increasingly clear: this conversation is not going to be resolved without violence.

Blair probably hesitated knowing she would need to go for the neck like Syrn’j, why Frigg brought it up. The fact Frigg is almost always in armor tells us she always has her guard up for this type of bullshit.
Yeah that makes sense to me, that she’s re-evaluating. Her elbow’s too low down for that particular motion to be going for the neck, and if she was planning to from the start she’d probably have started with some other innocent-looking gesture
With her hand that up, she was going for the neck or head. Incidentally giving Frigg the chance to notice it.
That’s why one should wear an helmet and neck protection.
Also, there is precedent. Another sisterhood of manipulative martial-inclined nuns were quite fond of using poisoned needles, and they also aimed for the neck/head. The high handed enemy, they called it.
She’s not, though, or her elbow would be up. I’m that short and you can’t get to someone’s neck or head with your elbow down.
I like Steel Raven’s thought above, that she’s hesitating (Possibly cause, as Pylgrim notes below, our lot are seasoned adventurers. And I’m thinking Blair’s probably not, she just “had” to do mercenary work.)
Seems as though E-merl is also noticing the needle in panel 5. They’re all a seasoned gang of adventurers by now.
