… What I *think* is my first comment on this comic, and it’s a correction. What the crap is wrong with me guys help I’m not a grammar Nazi I swear halp.
The Peacemakers are already enemies of Gastonia’s government, but they could definitely get Dean Reynolds and perhaps Pardo on their side. I’m still not sure what side Canegham is really on so he could prove to be a wild card. As for the savage races Iver will not agree to it and I doubt HAMMERHEAD will feel any differently. It will take some convincing to get Harky and Gondalessa to agree. Madame Arfa will probably be the most likely to go along with this since it was her idea to seek out the winter elves and she regrets the outcome of the war with the cat people. Don Gobligno could be another wild card. I don’t see him changing side out of the kindness of his heart, but he could be motivated by greed.
I really really want Byron to, at some point, fully grasp that his other self CHOSE to have a tragic backstory. Without realizing he would be any more than fiction, of course, but still.
I have far too much love for this. I mean, if it’s a business, can you imagine the logo? or the motto? And if it’s a union, can you imagine the picket line?
Pretty sure his name is pronounced “AW WHOO HOO HOO!!”
Y’know, on account of general enthusiasm and woohoo-ishness.
CHAMPEEEN OF DA FUZZY PEEPLES, AAHHWOOHOOHOO!
/roundhouse kick to fuzzy people’s elbow drop
Maybe been said before, but wow. There’s only 2 humans in their group, 2 and a half and if you want to go by blood quantum, racist (Peyton is half-elf, right?). Ignore the dwarf, wood-elf, and (possibly) half-elf (or otherwise unstated? Seriously, someone help me out here).
I choose to believe that Frigg is trying to tell Gravedust “Hey, man. It’s gonna be alright.”
I think this whole revelation is harder to accept for Gravy than for the others. His whole identity revolves around the mind and the soul and their connection to the universe. He can guide spirits to their afterlife and meditate himself into people’s dreams. He’s The Last Mystic, godsdammit! And now he’s being told world-shattering things about his own mind and soul that all his introspection couldn’t reveal. That’s gotta suck.
It’s never too late to fix “its never too late to turn over a new leaf”. Unless its Winter.
…oh, damn.
Winter is… no, wait…
Winter has come.
No, the winter has always been right where it is.
In Akerra, the characters come to winter.
Cut your enemy some slack, and he may give you accord.
…Enough ac-cord to hang themselves with, mayhap?
:)
Way to repeat the joke. ¬_¬

I think you’re jumping the shark on this one.
did
did you know that was your avatar when you made that post
He made a comment on this update earlier, so yes, he did. The man (or woman) has an eye for opportunity.
It’s gonna be nothing but shark puns from that one for a while.
That totally bites!
Those are going to be some puns I can really sink my teeth into.
Hmmm.
How many of “their own people” – on BOTH sides – are they gonna have to whup to make this work?
I believe the technical term is a lot, though considering the situation, it might end up a s*itton.
Or, dare I say, one metric ass-load? Hyessss!
Actually, if you look it up, a Buttload is an actual unit of measurement.
Well, Gastonia and Iver have been explicitly named as “yes, they are your enemies.”
They might ultimately be able to reason with Harky…Gondolessa is probable…Don Gobligno is right out…even Hammerhead might balk at this.
If they start with HAMMERHEAD, I’m sure it’ll get easier after that.
One factor you haven’t accounted for: The Peacemakers are no longer a part of the Gastonian government.
I really really want Byron to, at some point, fully grasp that his other self CHOSE to have a tragic backstory. Without realizing he would be any more than fiction, of course, but still.
I kind of wonder if real Byron has PTSD or something though, and created this character in part as a way to work through that.
That has been my thought as well.
And so the Five became the Nine. Which is real convenient in a democracy.
United Wraiths of Mordor?
UWA?
I have far too much love for this. I mean, if it’s a business, can you imagine the logo? or the motto? And if it’s a union, can you imagine the picket line?
Hmm one of them has already been offered godhood if the rest of them get up there later they’ll be the nine divine.
We just need 3 more, then we’ll get the FreakAngels.
The way Magda lookks at Penk is adorable.
Makes me wonder how close their relationship has become.
The way Frigg looks at Gravedust, huh.
Looks like she’s asking if she can have his stew.
Or that she’s about to just take the stew. This is Frigg after all.
But really look at how Magda’s and Byron’s expressions mirror one another.
As if humans needed? 3/5 of them are non-humans. That’s a pretty big stretch, even for confirmation bias.
Well, Best is a shit elf, which has always implied “half-elf” to me. So we could say that half of them are human.
Shit elves are outcasts. Full-blooded, but without any of the “power” they’d have otherwise.
Outcasts by whom? They’re just a branch of elvenry, the same as the Wood, Sky, or Winter elves.
Just shittier.
Outcast by their own people. Best was outcast by the Sky Elves, the comedy club had a Shit Wood Elf.
At least that’s my understanding.
That gnoll character, Ayargh? I forget his name is now my favorite. I find myself wanting a action figure of the champion of the fuzzy people.
I’m pretty sure I got into this comic a few years ago trying to find reference for wrestling gnolls.
It doesn’t really match the spelling, but in my head I keep wanting to call him Ah-WOO-ga.
Auraugu looks like “Ow raow goo” to me, though my brain tends to skim it a bit and it becomes “Ow ra goo” because screw that second U apparently.
What’s Frigg doing with that spoon in the second to last panel?
She’s either making a “hear, hear” gesture, or a “wank wank” gesture.
“Do not try and bend the spoon. That’s impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth.”
“What truth?”
“There is no spoon.”
It’s a ladle?
Maybe been said before, but wow. There’s only 2 humans in their group, 2 and a half and if you want to go by blood quantum, racist (Peyton is half-elf, right?). Ignore the dwarf, wood-elf, and (possibly) half-elf (or otherwise unstated? Seriously, someone help me out here).
Payet is Shit-Elf. As far as we know, they’re just elves that have lost their magic. I don’t think they’re halvsies.
Which is probably a good thing for any children Syr’Nj and Byron might have in the future if they survive this.
Savage races cannot think for themselves, they will need humans to think for them.
Eat it, Harkey!
Auraugu’s quote makes me wonder if he is aware of his people’s history of conquest over the other fuzzy peoples.
Syr and Penk shaking hands… I hadn’t realized how much I’d been looking forward to this moment.
I upvote this
The last panel is such a wonderful, satisfying moment!
It could be that Frigg is thinking, “I’ll just spoon out some of Gravedust’s stew & see if he notices.”
Aren’t only… two of them humans? Just sayin’.
Don’t you mean “terrestrials”? Their world is called Arkerra, so they’re the Arkerrans, and humans from the Sepia world “Terra” are Terrans.
So maybe “We’re coming for YOU, EXTRAARKERRESTRIALS!”
Don’t worry, Magda. Goblaurence’s smoke won’t cloud Weo’s visions… unless he inhales.
Um… Should he even be smoking that stuff around the kid?
